The fact is that most builders and business owners spend too much time doing stuff that doesn't really matter.
Yes, it's useful, but it's not vital to your company's growth. But there's a quick way you can get super focused on what will really earn you money.
We call it ‘Working The Plan’
In this article we're going to share with you a simple process our builders are using in order to get super focused on working on the right things, at the right time. And by that I mean PROFIT GENERATING strategies.

But before you can ‘work the plan’, you need to have a strategy in place.
So the first question you must ask yourself is, "What are the rocks that I need to achieve in the next 90 days that will increase my profitability and take me a step closer to my 1-year goal?”
Our Certified Professional Builders do this every 90 days in our boardroom as part of their quarterly strategic planning process.
It’s important to be really objective at this point.
What will REALLY make a difference to how much income you earn?
When you complete this process over a couple of quarters you'll be amazed how few of your activities actually bring more money into your company and you’ll also get better at spotting the right things to work on.
Once you have completed step 1 and identified your rocks, it’s time to break them down into manageable tasks... the stones.
A rock may contain a number of tasks that need to be accomplished, they can even be delegated. Next to each task allocate the amount of time required to complete, a deadline for completion and the person responsible for completing the task.
So now you not only know what needs to be done, you also have a plan to complete it.
Which takes us on to step 3... doing the work.
So start by allocating time in your calendar for ‘sprints’.
These are 50 minute sessions of uninterrupted, high-concentration time spent working on your business.
Start by completing 1 sprint in week one, then go to 2 sprints in week 2 and so on. Keep building up until you reach a level you are happy with. Ideally around 8-10 sprints a week is pretty good going.
When you have the time allocated in your working day, simply use that time to work through your tasks each week.
You’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll form a habit of working on your business...if you’re committed.
